The upcoming holiday weekend offers sports fan a wealth of exciting action across professional football and basketball. The NFL features a robust 10-game slate on Christmas Eve, followed by it's first ever Monday triple-header on Christmas Day. The NBA also spotlights 5 marquee matchups on Christmas - a tradition dating back to 2008. The graph below ranks this year's top-10 Christmas Eve and Day games on the secondary market by average ticket price (ATP). https://lnkd.in/g4uNkxV8Aaron Nesmith was the 14th Pick in 2020 NBA Draft. He played 2 Seasons in Boston before he was traded to the Indiana Pacers. While Nesmith showed glimpses of his talent in Boston, the general consensus was that he was a bust. For the better part of two years, Nesmith stood in the corner. His job was to defend and wait for catch and shoot 3 Point Opportunities. But as he's shown since arriving in Indiana, he is more than a Catch and Shoot 3 Point Shooter and a Defender. Unfortunately for Nesmith, he wasn't allowed to explore other aspects of his ability because the Celtics had two prominent wing scorers in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. This meant that each of the 100 possessions the Celtics had per game revolved around Tatum and Brown. As a result, Nesmith never received the opportunity to explore other parts of his game. Here was a Traditional Small Forward who was asked to become a 3 and D Archetype in the mold of Bruce Bowen. Bowen if you remember was a very limited offensive player. This begs the question, are we developing players correctly in the NBA. Is Sole Entrepreneurship detrimental to developing the Team and Individual Players?
