The Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II is a fictional race car produced by Ford. It appears in Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo PSP, Gran Turismo 5, Gran Turismo 6 and Gran Turismo 7.

"Gran Turismo commemorates the return of the legendary Le Mans-winning machine by offering its own interpretation."
As a stunning new take on a legendary racing car, the new Ford GT supercar was launched in the summer of 2004, to commemorate the company's 100th anniversary. As a reinterpretation of the classic 1960's GT40 that won four straight 24 Hours of Le Mans races, this new version featured the latest and greatest automotive technology. With that in mind, Gran[1] Turismo decided to make a good thing even better by creating its own Ford GT to contemporary Le Mans specs. We call it the Ford GT LM Race Car.
The powertrain remains the same as that found in the production Ford GT, a supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V8, mounted amidships behind the seats. But the 550 HP output from the stock version has been boosted to a whopping 592 HP in this race-car model. A 6-speed manual race-spec gearbox has also been added.
The LM Race Car has the identical proportions as that of the stock Ford GT, measuring 15.1 ft. from bumper to bumper and 6.3 ft. wide. The chassis is an aluminum space frame design incorporating all of the latest automotive technologies, and the body is composed entirely of carbon-fiber. A large rear wing for increased downforce has also been added. The suspension system consists of a double-wishbone configuration fore and aft. Total curb weight: just 1150 kg.

Ford's achievements at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1960s are some of the most impressive in the company's history. Their newly developed GT40 allowed them to beat the Ferrari team, and become champions for the first time. This Gran Turismo original Gr.3 race car is a modern version of that classic motor. It is based on the Ford GT that was released in 2004. Its supercharged midship V8 engine is capable of a massive 591.7 BHP. What's more, both the suspension and transmission have been designed specially with racing in mind.

Beginning in 1966, the first-generation Ford GT claimed four consecutive wins at Le Mans. Thirty-six years later, in 2005, a reproduction model was released to mark Ford's centennial. About 1,500 units of this reproduction model were sold as road cars. But what if this car were to race at Le Mans today? - Close inspection of the car's texture reveal the names of Ricardo Zonta and Klaus Ludwig, both of which drove a Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM to win the 1998 FIA GT Championship title, on the car's roof.[2]
- In GT7, they were replaced with Kazunori Yamauchi and Yukiharu Taniguchi (the latter was credited for working on GT4's opening movie), as it appears on the Autoart scale model.
- In the opening movie for GT4, the car has a "GT40" plate instead of the in-game "FORD GT" one.
- Based on the car's wheels and headlights, the original appearance of this car is based on the 2002 concept version of the Ford GT rather than the production model.
- The version appearing in GT7 is identical to the production-based Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car instead (including the change of tow hook position), only with a white livery, the original rear wing installed, and sans canards at the front.
- Autoart produced a limited-edition, 1:18-scale model of this car alongside its Test Car counterpart. Like the GT7 version, the scale model is based on the Test Car.
- An early version of the car, shown in the DVD that came with the official Japanese guide book 'Gran Turismo 4: The Bible', features the car in yellow with a Gran Turismo logo on the hood, as well as two Polyphony Digital logos on front of the car.[3]
- This car had an incorrect V6 engine sound in GT7, sounding similar to the Ford GT Race Car '18 minus the turbo noises. This was fixed in version 1.17.
- This is currently the most expensive Gr.3 car sold in Brand Central.
- This is the first and currently the only fictional car returning from PlayStation 2-era GT games to be completely remade for GT7 along with a fully-detailed working interior.
